On Saturday 27th March the district cub team is holding an Easter activity afternoon at the guide site at Riffhams camp site Danbury. They will be running various bases and finishing the afternoon with a Egg hunt and Campfire. Please wear old clothes but wear your cub scarf. Please bring a waterproof coat and a drink. The cost for this event is £5.00 per Cub; own transport. Please share if possible as there is very limited parking on site. Please drop off at 1 pm and pick up time is 4pm. The cubs can bring a maximum of £1.00 as we will be running a small tuck shop during the afternoon. I have e-mailed you the application form - please return to me by 9 March.
Thank you - Bagheera
Welcome to all cubs, old and new, to a new year and a new term.
Can I please remind you that subs of £30 are now due - please place either cash or cheque (payable to CVSG) in an envelope marked "subs" with your child's name on it and hand it to one of the leaders - thank you.
We intend to do a lot of running around this term and also we will try to be outside for a portion of each evening - weather allowing - so please can each cub bring a named water bottle so that they can have a drink and a coat. We do not have access to the school's water fountains so if your cub does not bring in a water bottle they will go without a drink.
You will also see that we have a couple of evenings scheduled for Wednesday. I'm sorry if this causes inconvenience or confusion - unfortunately the activities we wanted to do weren't available on Tuesdays.
As I have had no further information from the District team regarding the Astronomer's badge on Saturday I am assuming that this event is no longer going ahead.
We have also had to shelve our plans for the Indianna Jones sleepover this term as we are still looking for a suitable venue. As soon as we find one available on a week-end when we are we will let you know!
Where do the badges go?
If you click onto the relevant section for your child then scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will a section called useful stuff. From here there is a a link which will take you to a picture of where the badges go on the uniform.
When are subs due?
Subs are due the first two weeks of each new term so September, January and April.
Where do I buy uniform?
Uniform is available at the Scout Shop in Beehive Lane (inside One stop Scouting).
Please can all parents check before leaving their children at a section meeting that there is a leader present before you leave. We have had several incidents where children have been left when there is no leader present or the section meeting is being held at a different venue.
For their own safety we do not allow Beavers to leave the building without an adult, so please come into the building to collect your child.
Thank you for your co-operation with this.
Cathy
